The number of teaching staff, in the 2018-2019 academic year, leading classes in OP 5B011100 -Informatics are carried out by 31 teachers, of whom 18 have academic degrees, which is 58% of the total number of teachers, including: 4 doctors of sciences, 13 candidates of sciences, 1 PhD; in the 2017-2018 academic year – 32, of which 19 people with academic degrees (59.3%), including: 4 doctors of sciences, 14 candidates of sciences; in the 2016-2017 academic year there were 38 people, of which 20 people with academic degrees (or 52.6%), including 4 doctors of sciences, 15 candidates of sciences, 1 PhD.

Foreign scientists are regularly involved in lectures. First of all, specialists with the highest scientific and pedagogical qualifications are invited to work as teachers. When hiring external part-timers, high requirements for the quality of the staff involved in teaching are always maintained.

Professor Serik M. and co-authors have developed a number of computer programs, as evidenced by patents under № 350, 947, 168, 5724, 277, 853, 2562 from 2015 to 2019.

Also, teachers of the department Zhalgasbekova Zh.K., Davletova A.H., Ermaganbetova M.A., Abildinova G.M., Karymsakova A.E., Shyndaliev N.T., have patents of computer programs.

Professor of the Department Serik M. is also: an expert of the Textbook Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan; the National Accreditation Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the nostrification of diplomas; a member of the program commissions of foreign and republican conferences, the editorial board of the republican journal "Engineering Graphics and problems of vocational education".

At the Department of Computer Science, practical teachers with experience in the relevant industry (teachers of schools in Astana) are involved in teaching OP.

Foreign teachers from near and far abroad are also regularly invited to the department. For example, in 2017-2018, Professor of the Lavrentiev Institute of Hydrodynamics – S.V. Sukhinin, Professor of Istanbul Technical University - Eshref Adali were invited to give lectures.

Professor of the department Mubarakov A.M. was awarded the badges "For merits in the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "S.Altynsarin", a letter of thanks from the Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science.

From among the teaching staff leading classes for students of the specialty 5B011100 - Computer Science, 4 people are the holders of the grant "The best teacher of the university": Serik M., Nurbekova Zh.K., Abildinova G.M., Zakirova A.B.

Teaching staff of the department have developed educational and methodological complexes on electronic and paper media for all the disciplines taught, which contain all the necessary educational and methodological material.

The practical embodiment of the research of teaching staff serving OP 5B011100-Informatics, OP "7M01124 – Pedagogical measurement" OP "7M01514 – Smart-City",OP "STEM –learning" is the presence of publications in journals with a non-zero impact factor. The teaching staff of the department for the period 2015-2019 published more than 20 publications in foreign publications included in the Scopus or Thomson Reuters database.

In recent years, the number of scientific publications published abroad has increased.

Teaching staff of the department participate in various international, national and regional scientific conferences. Over the past 5 years, the faculty of the Department of Informatics has participated in various international, national and regional scientific conferences.

The Department of Computer Science provides the maximum balance between the educational and scientific activities of teachers. Teachers of the department actively develop special courses and introduce them into the educational process. So, Professor of the Department of Computer Science Serik Meruert is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the author of such special disciplines as: Parallel computing, Cloud computing; Client-server technologies; associate Professor Alzhanov A.A. - Information systems in education, Innovative technologies in education; Associate Professor Abildinova G.M. – Information marketing and management in education, Management in the field of education; associate Professor Shyndaliev N.T. – Pattern networks, Open architecture of computer systems; associate professor Davdetova A.H. - Graphical dialog systems (Adobe Illustrator), Methodological foundations of pedagogical research in the field of education; associate Professor Ermaganbetova M.A. – Methodology for the development of video lectures, video clips, a workshop on the development of video lectures and video clips.

The faculty of the department is currently studying online courses on introduction to cybersecurity and introduction to the Internet of Things.
