Who will you be, student of the future?

Who will you be, student of the future?

In December, at the Faculty of Information Technologies, a meeting of the academic committee was held, dedicated to the development of EP in the framework of new trends in the development of information technologies and the Atlas of new professions. With the development of the post-industrial and information society, the structure of the labor market, labor relations and employment of the population also changes. The labor market is expecting drastic changes, as evidenced by a foresight study of the market of IT specialties in Kazakhstan in the preparation of the Atlas of new professions in Kazakhstan, an analysis of “dying” professions and professions of the future.

Today we are all faced with new technologies that make our life convenient and comfortable, with “smart” homes and even cities. Digital transformation has reached the workplace as well. In this world of technology, IT specialists are especially in demand who are proficient in artificial intelligence technologies, machine learning, are able to robotize industrial business processes, and others.

FIT departments understand and accept the trends of today's IT development and make adjustments to their educational programs. As elective courses, courses are offered on robotization, industrial automation, IoT, on the development of intelligent information systems and neural networks, on automatic text processing and computational linguistics. A lot of work has been done by the developers of the Atlas of New Professions, in which disappearing professions, transforming and new professions are indicated for each profession. For the IT industry, 40 new professions have been allocated, among which there are almost fantastic ones. For example, the profession of a VR / AR / MR developer. Everyone has the opportunity to visit the virtual world in VR games, but in the near future not only games will be available, but entire virtual worlds that will take into account the laws of physics, social environment and landscape. You can not only find yourself in the virtual world, but also immerse yourself in them completely and even smell the smells.

Our departments are already preparing for new realities and offer new areas of training. 4 new EPs have been proposed, which are aimed at training such personnel as an Iot specialist, a digital development tutor, a technological engineer of intelligent cyber-physical infrastructures and a universal AI developer. We make an attempt to look into the future and hope that we will be in line with it.
