HISTORY
2004 - from the Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technologies of L.N. Gumilyov, the department "Computer Engineering and Information Systems" was allocated.
2006 - the department "Computer Engineering and Information Systems" was divided into the departments "Computer Engineering" and "Information Systems".
2011 - there was a division of the department "Computer Engineering" into the departments "Computer Engineering" and "Theoretical Informatics".
2020 - the name of the department "Computer Engineering" was renamed to "Computer and Software Engineering".

2004-2006 – Sharipbaev Altynbek Amirovich, doctor of technical sciences, professor.
2006-2008 – Sagindykov Kakim Moldabekovich, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor.
2008-2011 – Sharipbaev Altynbek Amirovich, doctor of technical sciences, professor.
2011-2015 – Iskakov Kazizat Takuadinovich, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor.
2015-2019 - Tashatov Nurlan Narkenovich, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
2019-present Time – Dyussekeev Kanagat Abetovich, Candidate of Technical Sciences, PhD.
THE COMPOSITION OF THE DEPARTMENT
For the 2025-2026 academic year, the department has 32 employees, including 27 full-time teachers, 2 part-time teachers and 3 teaching and support staff.
The teaching staff of the department consists of 2 professors, 11 associate professors, 11 senior lecturers and 3 teachers.
Degree of the teaching staff - 72%; 2 doctors of sciences, 8 candidates of sciences, 11 doctors of philosophy (PhD), 7 masters, 1 specialist.
SCIENTIFIC DIRECTIONS
The department conducts scientific research on projects funded by the MSHE of the RK and others. The leaders of scientific projects are Iskakov K.T., Atanov S.K., Zhumadillaeva A.K., Zhartybaeva M.G.
