Teaching staff of the department - Doctor of Technical Sciences Sharipbay A. A., Candidate of Technical Sciences Razakhova B.S., Candidate of Technical Sciences Kudubaeva S.A., Candidate of Technical Sciences Niyazova R.S., Candidate of Technical Sciences Bekmanova G. T., Candidate of Technical Sciences Omarbekova A.S., etc. they conduct research in the field of AI technology: gesture recognition, research of intelligent systems for information security risk analysis, control of students' knowledge, data analysis for security purposes, creation of smart textbooks, smart services, both within the framework of grant funding research projects and initiative research topics. Under their guidance, diploma projects, master's and doctoral dissertations are carried out on topics also related to AI technologies. According to the results of the conducted research, representatives of the faculty of the department publish scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals, monographs and textbooks.
OP "6B06112-Artificial Intelligence Technologies" and "7M06112-Artificial Intelligence Technologies" passed the international conceptual accreditation of ASIIN in 2021.
In the first semester of the 2021-2022 academic year, a foreign professor of Istanbul Technical University PhD Esref Adali was invited to conduct classes in the disciplines: "Computational models" and "Machine Learning and applications" for 1st-year undergraduates of the OP "7M06112-Artificial Intelligence Technologies"
The department cooperates with representatives of IT companies such as: BTS Education, JSC NIT, JSC Kazakh Academy of Infocommunications, Soft Power LLP, IT Invest Group Ltd LLP and others.
NAO ENU named after L.N.Gumilyov and Soft Power LLP signed a cooperation agreement on conducting a professional practice on Artificial Intelligence Technology and Information Security Systems for all levels (No. 02-04-19/1123)
On the basis of the department there is a laboratory class created by the international project CLASS "Artificial Intelligence".
Particular attention in the activities of the department is paid to the development of international relations with foreign universities. The department cooperates with a number of leading universities of the near and far abroad, including: Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (Minsk, Republic of Belarus); Czech Technical University (Prague, Czech Republic); Lublin Technical University (Lublin, Poland);
