This textbook systematizes and outlines the approaches and principles for designing intelligent control systems used in environments characterized by complexity, uncertainty, and a lack of formalizable information. It establishes the foundations for modeling within intelligent and situational control systems and describes dynamic expert systems that enable the effective management of production systems. The text examines intelligent control systems and intelligent information security control systems based on the integration of robust and adaptive systems. It describes intelligent control technologies, intelligent decision support systems, and the concepts behind their development. Practical aspects of applying intelligent control approaches and systems are discussed, accompanied by illustrative examples. This textbook is based on course materials developed by the authors for relevant disciplines at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University’s Institute of Digital Sciences and Artificial Intelligence, as well as at other higher education institutions. It is intended for students pursuing degree programs in automation, control, and information technology. |
This monograph investigates the challenges of developing decision support systems (DSS) for managing sulfur production processes characterized by stochastic and fuzzy uncertainty, and proposes solution methods based on systems analysis methodology. The theoretical foundations for creating DSS to manage production processes within complex technological systems—specifically sulfur production units (SPUs)—are outlined. A systems-based method is proposed for synthesizing a suite of models for complex technological systems (using the SPU as a case study) under conditions of stochastic and fuzzy uncertainty; based on this method, a model suite for the key interconnected units of the sulfur production block has been developed. Multi-criteria optimization problems regarding the sulfur production process—involving fuzziness and conflicting criteria—are formulated as fuzzy decision-making problems. Heuristic methods are proposed to solve these problems effectively. An architecture is proposed, and key intelligent DSS subsystems are developed for the effective management of the sulfur production process, including descriptions of the primary interfaces. Using the developed DSS, a decision-making problem involving fuzzy constraints for the effective management of the sulfur production process has been solved. |

Department of SAU celebrates the anniversary of the professor
