The National Olympiad on Information Security "Cyber Defenders-2025" has ended. It was held jointly with the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov, the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "State Technical Service", the Center for Analysis and Research of Cyber Attacks TSARKA and the Kazakh Academy of Infocommunications. CD2025

National Cybersecurity Olympiad "Cyber Defenders – 2025"

The Faculty of Information Technologies of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, in cooperation with the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "State Technical Service", the Center for Analysis and Investigation of Cyber Attacks (CARCA), and the Kazakh Academy of Infocommunications, is organizing the National Cybersecurity Olympiad "Cyber Defenders – 2025".
Dates: April 3–11, 2025

Goal of the Olympiad — to support and develop talented students interested in the field of cybersecurity.
Olympiad Format:
* Round 1 (online testing): conducted remotely. Based on the results, the top 30 participants with the highest scores will advance to the second round.
* Round 2: individual tasks. Based on the results, 15 finalists will be selected.
* Round 3: final round in the CTF (Capture The Flag) competition format.
Winners will receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree diplomas, as well as a unique opportunity to participate starting from Round 2 in the "STS Cyber Challenge" Olympiad, organized by JSC "State Technical Service".

On March 27, 2025, the first round of the National Cybersecurity Olympiad ‘Cyber Defenders 2025’ took place. The event was organized by L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the ‘State Technical Service’ JSC, the ‘TSARKA – Cyber Attack Analysis and Research Center,’ and the Kazakh Academy of Information and Communications, with the aim of supporting talented young individuals. The final results are as follows (first 100 participants): The top 30 participants received invitations to the second round. The next 15 participants are on the reserve list, meaning that if any of the initial 30 participants are unable to compete due to certain circumstances, those on the reserve list will be invited instead.

The First National Olympiad «Cyber Defenders - 2024» on Information Security

The opening ceremony of the 2,3rd round of the First National Olympiad on Information Security «Cyber Defenders - 2024» supporting talented students, organized jointly by the Faculty of Information Technology of the Eurasian National University and the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC «State Technical Service», TSARKA-«Center for Analysis and Investigation of Cyber Attacks», «Kazakh Academy of Infocommunications» began on May 13.

The Olympiad was opened by the dean of the Faculty of Information Technology Seilov Shakhmaran, with a welcoming speech to the participants and guests. He expressed gratitude to the heads and representatives of the organizations holding the Olympiad together with the Eurasian National University.

At the opening ceremony, a representative of the National Security Committee, Koychubaev Bakhyt, spoke, who noted the importance of information security in the modern world with developed digital technologies, that for this we are obliged to educate market-resistant specialists.

The head of the Department of «Information Security», Konyrkhanova Assem, presented the conditions of the Olympiad and wished the participants good luck!

Results of the 2nd stage of the first national Olympiad on information security “Cyber Defenders-2024”

Today, the second stage of the first national Olympiad on information security “Cyber Defenders – 2024”, held among university students, has been completed. This event is aimed at identifying and supporting talented youth in the field of information security.

The Olympiad was attended by students from the Eurasian National University named after L. N. Gumilyov, SDU University, Kazakh-British Technical University, Astana IT University, Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt Ata, higher college "Astana Polytechnic", Toraigyrov University, Taraz Regional University named after M.H.Dulati, Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Yessenov.

Based on the results of the second stage, 15 students will be selected to participate in the third stage, which will be held in the CTF (Capture The Flag) format, where students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their cybersecurity skills in real time.
