Award Ceremony of the National Competitions “Best University Teacher – 2025” and “Best University Researcher – 2025”
On February 13, 2025, a ceremonial award event for the winners of the national competitions “Best University Teacher” and “Best University Researcher” was held at the Gylym Ordasy building in Almaty.
According to the results of the competition, the “Best Researcher” award was presented to Professor of the Department of Computer Science, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Meruert Serik. The title “Best University Teacher” was awarded to the Head of the Department of Computer Science, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Zulpukhar Zhandos Ensebекuly.
During the competition, the development and publication of electronic educational resources and teaching materials, publications in national and international scientific journals, patents, and other research achievements were comprehensively evaluated. Special attention was paid to teaching quality and contribution to professional training.

At the VIII international competition of scientific papers and creative projects of students and undergraduates on the use of ICT, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Academician Evney Aristanovich Buketov, students of the Computer Science Laboratory won the following prizes:

6B01501 - "COMPUTER SCIENCE" WON PRIZES AT THE XVI REPUBLICAN RESEARCH COMPETITION
In 2024, students of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Saidа Bolatovna Shakirova, Ayaulym Nurzatkyzy Roman and Yulduz Bazarbaevna Tukhtabaeva were awarded a diploma of the 1st degree in the XVI Republican competition of scientific research works of students of universities of Kazakhstan under the educational program 6B01501 - "Computer Science".
Scientific supervisors: Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor N.T. Shyndaliev, and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Zh.E. Zulpikhar.
In 2024, students of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Perizat Makhmudkyzy Abduashimova and Zhansaya Zhumanazarkyzy Abilkhan were awarded a diploma of the 3rd degree in the XVI Republican competition of scientific research works of students of universities of Kazakhstan under the educational program 6B01501 - "Computer Science".

MOBILITY OF PARTICIPANTS IN THE PROJECT "INTEGRATED APPROACH TO STEM TEACHER TRAINING"
From November 25 to 27, 2022, project coordinator Serik M., project member Baigozhina G.B., second-year master's student Abdiray L., and first-year master's student Nyazkhanov M. participated in a mobility program as part of the event "STEM Project Training and STEM & Makers Fest/Expo"
As part of the "Integrated Approach to STEM Teacher Training" project under the European Erasmus+ program, an event titled "STEM Project Training and STEM & Makers Fest/Expo" was held at Hacibektas Veli University in Nevşehir.
During this event, projects presented by participants from partner universities in Finland, Ireland, and Kazakhstan were defended. Experts from partner universities, as well as the main project coordinator, Mr. Janerik Lundquist, evaluated the presented works and provided consultations.
Two projects were presented at the event on behalf of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The project leaders were Professor of the Department of Computer Science, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Serik M., and PhD candidate of the Department of Computer Science Baigozhina G.B.
The first project was presented by first-year master's student of the "7M01525 – STEM Education" program, Madiyar Nyazkhanov, on the topic: "Smart Photobioreactor."
The second project was also presented by master's student of the "7M01525 – STEM Education" program, Laura Abdiray, on the topic: "Forest Fire Fighter Robot."
The scientific advisors were Professor, Dr. Serik Meruert, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Science, PhD Nursaule Karelhan, and PhD candidate Symbat Nurgalieva.
The projects of our master's students, as well as their successful presentations, sparked great interest from the university administration, representatives of other projects, and event guests.
As a result of the event, Madiyar Nyazkhanov's scientific project was awarded a Diploma of the 1st degree, while Laura Abdiray's project received a Diploma of the 2nd degree. All participants of the "STEM Project Training and STEM & Makers Fest/Expo" event received certificates, confirming their successful participation in the international exchange and professional development program.

Doctoral students of the faculty of Information Technology of the
L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University a took part in the international
scientific conference «FARABI ӘLEMІ»
On April 6-9, 2020, the al-Farabi Kazakh national University hosted the international scientific conference of students and young scientists «FARABI ALEMI» as part of the VII international Farabi readings. There were several sections on the following topics at the conference: «Actual problems of computer science and computer engineering», «Intelligent systems and process control», «Information systems and information protection». The event was attended by students of the faculty of information technologies of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Following the conference conference, the doctoral student of the specialty «6D011100-Computer Science» Mukhambetova Meiramgul Zharollayevna took the III prize place, the scientific adviser is Head of the Department of Informatics, doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Serik Meruert. According to the research topic of the doctoral student, methods of configuring servers in the local network and in cloud platforms, the implementation of the hybrid cloud principle and the implementation of methods for the educational process of the high education were discussed. The topic aroused the interest of the audience, many questions were asked and discussed.

XI Republican student subject Olympiad in the specialty "5B011100-INFORMATICS"
From 22 to 24 April 2019, the XI Republican subject Olympiad among students in the specialty "5B011100-Informatics"was held. 17 higher educational institutions of the country took part.
Each University provided a team of 3 people: students of 1-4 courses studying in the specialty "5B011100-Informatics".
The Grand opening was held in the 208 auditorium of the First President, the main building of the Eurasian national University.
According to the regulations, the Olympiad of students of the specialty "5B011100-Informatics" was held in 2 rounds. The results of round 2 were also calculated using the Contester system. The system automatically puts the team (student) in the first place, which was displayed correctly and in a short period of time.
The first round is a team tour. The tour was held between teams of all universities.
The first place was taken by the Caspian state University of technology and engineering named after sh. Esenov,,,,
The second place was taken by the South Kazakhstan state pedagogical University and the Kazakh state women's pedagogical University.
The third place was taken by the Kazakh national pedagogical University. Abay, Pavlodar state pedagogical University.S. toraigyrova, Zhetysu state University.After I. Zhansugurov.

During the Olympiad, participants visited the University Museum. The Department also organized a bus tour of the city of Nur-Sultan.
The organization and holding of the Olympiad was held at a very high level. The teamwork of faculty, engineers of the Department, technical support, under the guidance of head of Department Alzhanova A. K. became a measure of excellence of the Department.
The winners were presented with memorable gifts. Thank you letters to all participants.
