What is religious extremism? Extremism is a term derived from Latin. Organization of extreme views and actions, denial of order and norms in society. Religious extremism is the denial of the values of traditional religion in society, opposition to society, distortion of religion, active propaganda of an alien idea, opposition to the state system. The essence of any extremism is cruel treatment of those who do not join their opinion. The danger of extremism is that it kindles a fire between peoples and religions, sows chaos, and threatens the security of the state.
Religious extremists are defined as following extreme views and actions, denying order and norms in society. Extremism is the defense of an extreme religious worldview and radical actions aimed at solving any problems. Extremism is a very complex phenomenon that manifests itself in everything. “The spread of radical beliefs aimed at inciting religious differences, manifested in actions that threaten the safety, life, health, and rights of citizens”.
Religious terrorists – use of force under the pretext of a political goal; Religious terrorism is a method that is expressed in the use of force to achieve the goals of an organized group under the guise of religion. In modern conditions, religious terrorists are taking actions to seize and blow up buildings of public importance, remove aircraft and other actions. Terrorist activities are always public in nature and aimed at influencing society and government.
The Hanafi madhhab is a priority direction of the Muslim movement in Kazakhstan. Among the Muslims of Kazakhstan is the “Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan” (SAMK), headed by Chief Mufti Nauryzbay Kazhy Taganuly, a propagandist and supporter of the Hanafi madhhab. The Hanafi school, founded by Abu Hanifa, is one of the four schools of Fiqh in Islam. Followers of the path created by Abu Hanifa prevailed on the territory of modern Kazakhstan in the post-Mongan period (XIII-XV centuries). Back in the 16th century, representatives of the Kazakh people followed the Hanafi madhhab among Sunni Muslims.
Our traditional religion is the Hanafi mahhab In Soviet times, Muslims of Central Asia, including Kazakhstanis, adhered to Hanafi, and their fatwa was based on the conclusions of this madhhap by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Central Asia and Kazakhstan. After several terrorist attacks in the 2010s, the Kazakh authorities strengthened control over religious organizations as the main method of combating religious extremism and propaganda among the country's Muslims of the traditional madhhab, in particular the Hanafi madhhab. The Hanafi madhhab is the most widespread among other fiqh madhhabs. The Hanafi school is followed by the countries of Middle and Central Asia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, the Middle East, the Balkans, etc.

Good afternoon, my name is Bauyrzhan Torebekov, I am a fourth-year student in "Information Security Systems" profession. At the beginning of autumn, I saw the information about the "Creators Contest" from 5Q (5q.kz). 5Q - This is a multimedia platform where everyone can become a creator and monetize their knowledge by creating educational and entertainment content. I decided to try my forces.
Accordingly I gathered my thoughts and began to write the course content and search for all the necessary information. After the course was ready, I received two reviews on it from current IS practitioners. I specified the course title as "Introduction to Cybersecurity," that is, "Introduction to Cybersecurity.
There was a lot of work along the way: renting an office, shooting videos at night, since there was study and internship during the day. Also, I was helped by our teachers, Tokkulieva Aizhan Konurbaevna, Shakhmetova Gulmira Baltabaevna, Ongarbaeva Ainagul Igilikovna and Satybaldina Dina Jagyparovna.

VI CTF Cup of Russia on Information Security One of the largest information security tournaments in Russia in the CTF (Capture the Flag) format was held in Moscow from 10 to 11 December 2022, where participants practiced methods of protecting digital systems in a playful way. Our students returned with a new baggage of knowledge, full of unforgettable impressions and new acquaintances. So, one of the participants, Kurgumbaev Adlet shared his impressions about the trip to the NCFU summer school.
Together with other guys from ENU, we flew by plane to Moscow, and then to Stavropol, where the North Caucasian Federal University (NCFU) is located. With me were students I knew from our university: Alekseev Ilya, Imash Ilyas, Mukhtarova Aruzhan , Krylov Mikhail. The internship lasted from July 10 to July 24, 2022, that is, for two whole weeks. I would like to note right away that the trip was completely free for us, everything was included: flights, transfers, hotel, meals, training. We were greeted very warmly, both by the weather and by the smiles of the volunteers. While we were driving from the airport on a comfortable bus, we could observe the colorful nature, and the clouds flying over us relatively close. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was pleased with the conditions. Everything was perfect and even better. The program of each day was varied and rich. Every day was something to remember. Our morning began with an Energy block, that is, with a charge. Usually we danced, it was a great mood lifter. Then we had breakfast. By the way, about food. The food was very good beyond words. There was really a lot of food, there were three main meals and between them one coffee break, where they gave pastries, juices, cheeses and more. I would like to note that despite the excess food, I did not gain weight, since the days of my stay were active at the same time, starting with morning exercises and ending with walks in the park and quests included in the summer university program. The study took place in the IT building. During our studies, we covered topics such as: “Cybersecurity Incident Response”, “Information Security Management”, “Cybersecurity Event Detection and Notification”, “Information Gathering”, “Cybersecurity Incident Investigation Methods” and others. We were shown various expensive utilities that did unimaginable things. We also saw special PCs specialized for certain phone hacking utilities, utilities that could detect a fake document, but the most interesting thing was that we were shown these programs in operation. Practice was top notch. The lectures were not boring, but very interesting. In addition to cybersecurity, classes were held on “ Soft Skills ". It was also very interesting, especially the trainings. We also had a small course on “Social Design”. I was the leader of our team. The theme of our project was “Financial Literacy”. As I wrote earlier, every day was different . "With what?" you ask, I will gladly answer this question. I'll start with a tour of Kislovodsk and Pyatigorsk. It was amazing. We saw high mountains, very sacred places and even tasted real mineral water. You have probably heard about the sources of Essentuki. These sources are just on the way to Kislovodsk and Pyatigorsk. We bought various souvenirs, took a lot of photos and drove back to Stavropol. In Stavropol, I would like to highlight the Victory Park. This park is considered the largest and most interesting in the city. It is very interesting to walk along it. No less interesting were new acquaintances with students from countries such as Syria, Kyrgyzstan, Russia. Everyone was fluent in Russian or English, so communication developed very well. The trip turned out to be unforgettable, amazing, informative and exciting.

Open educational hour "Religious extremism and terrorism - a threat to the world."
On 24.09.2021 Konyrkhanova A.А., Associate Professor of "Information Security" held an open educational hour for first-year students on the MS Teams platform themed "Religious extremism and terrorism - a threat to the world." During the educational hour, an in-depth clarification on the nature of extremism, terrorism was provided, as well as a report on its types, causes, and consequences. She explained to students the social, legal and religious nature of society and called on them not to be provoked in the direction of terrorism and religious extremism. The importance of peace and the fact that kindness and goodness, the ability to do good to people are the main principles of life were emphasized. There were videos about the current terrorist attacks, as well as the situation in Afghanistan. Students shared their thoughts and ideas. In conclusion, the teacher called on the students to stay away from various religious movements, to avoid negative religious movements, and gave appropriate examples.It was noted that students need to educate themselves and the younger generation to follow this principle, to be disciplined both during and outside of school, and each student is obliged to educate himself and the younger generation of society.
On April 17-18, 2021, 3-4 year students of the Department of Information Security took part in the cybersecurity competition “Who will attack and protect computer systems better?” organized by Beeline & ISSP. Students of the educational program "Information Security Systems" D. Bekmuratov and A. Adilkhan won prizes at the CTF competition, losing 1st place to the Military Engineering Institute of Radio Electronics and Communications (Almaty).
Having won the competition, D. Bekmuratov and A. In honor of the 25th anniversary of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, the Department of Postgraduate Education developed a regulation on the competition «The best research work of master/PhD students» (ENU P 37-21 of 01-03-2021). The purpose of the competition is to activate the creative attitude to research work, create conditions for the realization of students creative abilities, and stimulate their research activities. Participants of the competition are students (master and PhD students) of the final year in all field of specialty The competition was held in three rounds: department, faculty and university-wide. The department and faculty rounds of the competition were held until March 10, 2021. To hold the university-wide round, a competition commission was established by the order N. 2-p dated 16.03.2021 of the Acting board Chairman – rector of the University Kamzabekuly Dikhan. A well-known scientist, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Director of the Institute of Cell Biology and Biotechnology, head of the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU Bersymbai Rakhmetkazhi Iskendiruly was appointed as a chairman. The commission includes deans of faculties, heads of departments, professors and associate professors. The main requirements of the competition: the completion of a significant amount of dissertation work, the presents scientific publications in the editions recommended by the Committee for Control in the Field of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and for doctoral students the presence of at least one article in an international scientific publication that has a non-zero impact factor according to the ISI Web of Knowledge,Thomson Reuters or is included in the Scopus database on the topic of the dissertation. More than 80 applications were submitted from the faculties. By the decision of the commission, 25 doctoral students and 25 undergraduates were selected, who were recommended for awarding diplomas and valuable gifts. The presentation of diplomas took place on April 14 at 11.00 in the educational and administrative building of the L. N. Gumilyov ENU.

The meeting discussed issues on educational programs "6B06112-Artificial Intelligence Technologies" and "7М06112-Artificial Intelligence Technologies".
Turebaeva R.D. presented to the participants information on the developed educational program 6B06112- "Technologies of Artificial Intelligence" for the level of education of bachelor's degree and B.Sh. Razakhova - for magistracy 7M06112- "Technologies of Artificial Intelligence".
The managing Director of the BIG DATA block of JSC “National information technologies” Moon D. A. noticed that the specialists of this direction it is necessary to increase hours for existing subjects of the mathematical cycle and add a few subjects which are fundamental to the experts of artificial intelligence as working with data and in computer linguistics.
The head of the Big Data Processing and Analysis Department of National Information Technologies JSC Satbek B. B. proposed to take into account the skills and knowledge that Data Analyst, Data Engineer and Data Scientist specialists should have, as well as the functional responsibilities of these specialists, and to adhere to this information when determining the list of elective disciplines.
During the meeting, it was decided to add credits to the disciplines and add an additional list of elective disciplines related to the study of optimization methods, data visualization, statistical data processing in software packages, and data analytics based on the Hadoop ecosystem.
